We all know that healthcare costs are skyrocketing.  Each year employees are paying more and more for insurance premiums and out of pocket expenses.   What can you do at the chapter level to help alleviate these costs?  

School districts all over California find themselves in a fiscal crisis unlike anything that we have experienced in the collective bargaining era for California school employees. In order to remain solvent, many districts are resorting to layoffs. CSEA chapters, in conjunction with the Orange field office, are practicing a few proven strategies to prevent layoffs. We have not been able to stop every layoff, though, and if CSEA members understand how layoffs work, we can be sure that they fall within the bounds of the collective agreement and the law.
